Last night Ellie and I made apple crisp together: she helped season the apples and stir the crisp topping. As we worked, I gave her several apple slices to eat, first plain slices and then slices seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. She really enjoyed the cinnamon slices--she liked them so much that she exclaimed, "
Yay! Yum!
Cimmamin. Apple
cimmamin...I like!" She liked the finished product, too, especially when I put a small dollop of ice cream on top of it. After Ellie finished eating, she ran to the play kitchen and grabbed a "bowl," an "apple," and a spatula. She brought them to the kitchen table and announced, "Apple
cripp...I
cookin'!"
