Yarntastic Day

Hi, Mumzy here. Ellie and I recently went to one of my favorite yarn stores. Ellie loved the textures and colors. The store owner said she was the best behaved baby ever in the store.

She's a talker!

Just like her moms, Ellie talks a lot. She's v. quiet when we're around other people, but when she's playing by herself or with her moms she's all, "Bwah bah blah ha heh whuh whuh whuh." She also likes talking on the phone with her grandparents; in fact, when the phone rings she perks up and reaches out for it! Annette and I thought this wasn't supposed to happen till her teen years.... My mom even calls and asks just for Ellie; she says a quick "Hi!" to me and then it's all, "What's Ellie doing? Is she awake? Does she want to talk to me?" So funny!

Edited to add: Auntie Jenny says that Ellie looks like she's auditioning for Cats in that first photo. I quite agree.

Germs? What germs?

When I took this first photo, I didn't realize that Ellie was chomping on the playground swing. Eww, GERMS! I should have known she'd teethe on it, though--her gums are very sore right now.

She's like, "Ah, relief!" Also, "What's up, Mama? I'm teething!"

Do note the drool running down the swing in this photo. Very hygienic, no? But she looks like she feels better, so I guess it's all good. By the way, Ellie was talking to me in this photo; her favorite sound these days is "Bwah!"

And finally, here's Miss Ellie full of smiles as she swings back and forth. She sure does like the playground swing. And hey, at least when she gets sick this weekend I'll know where she got the original germs. Good times!

Swinging

Ellie likes swinging with her friends as well as swinging by herself.

Motoring

Ellie pushes herself backwards now. Last night she pushed herself underneath the kids' table, which she thought was v. amusing. Crawling can't be too far off now!

Is she giving me the finger?!?!

Formal baby portraits

On Saturday we took Ellie to get her picture made at a kids' portrait studio near our house. She didn't feel like smiling, but we got a couple of really cute pictures anyway! We'll send out hard copies once we receive them, but we hope you'll like these mini photos in the meantime.

7 months

Ellie's a big 7-month old now, and today she tried her sippy cup for the first time. She didn't actually drink from it, but she put it in her mouth and tried it out. As you can see, she was pretty proud of her new accomplishment!

Playtime for Ellie & Reuben

Ellie discovered our school bus this morning, then she turned herself into a turtle. While she was busy doing those things, Reuben curled up in the kids' playhouse. He loves it in there!
