Each kid in my child care program has at least one parent who is a scientist at a local college, so today we took a field trip to check out a couple of the parents' labs. We toured one mom's entomology lab, then took a peek into a dad's paleontology lab before heading out for a picnic on the lawn. Ellie liked the bugs and the cast of the dinosaur head, but she really liked lunch and the sculptures on the lawn. She also says "picnic" like this: "nicnic." Cute!
