And by "V-Day" I mean
V-Day. Eve Ensler, V-Day founder, was in town on Saturday night to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her play
The Vagina Monolgues and the creation of V-Day. Eve Ensler is a playwright, performer, and anti-violence activist, and she's been a hero of mine since I first read her work in 1998. When Annette and I learned that Ms. Ensler would be in town, we knew we had to bring Ellie to see her. After all, it's not every day that a world-famous feminist activist gives a lecture in our own ZIP code!

Ellie horsed around with us before Eve Ensler's lecture began.
Then she waved hello to her many admirers in the crowd. She was a star!
She woke up when the audience applauded at the conclusion of the lecture, then she made a grab for the camera.
Ellie smiled cheerfully as we stood in line to meet Eve Ensler and to have our books signed.
When we met Eve Ensler, I told her about rereading "I Was There In the Room" days after Ellie's birth. Ms. Ensler signed two books for Ellie, one of which was my first edition copy of
The Vagina Monologues. What an amazing night!
